Abstract

Coco Rider is an innovative carpooling application designed specifically for the Cameroonian market, addressing the unique transportation challenges faced in urban centers like Douala and Yaoundé. By connecting drivers with empty seats to passengers heading in the same direction, Coco Rider reduces transportation costs, decreases traffic congestion, and lowers carbon emissions. The platform incorporates features tailored to the local context, including flexible payment options (mobile money integration with MTN Mobile Money and Orange Money), offline functionality for areas with limited connectivity, and route optimization that accounts for Cameroon’s specific road conditions and traffic patterns.

About Coco Rider

Coco Rider was developed in response to Cameroon’s growing transportation challenges, including:
